Youth Inclusion
The MAGIC programme can be tailored to develop respect for self and for others. Unless we believe in ourselves, value ourselves and recognize our own self worth we cannot value and respect others. MAGIC enhances the self esteem and interpersonal skills of young people. MAGIC develops life skills necessary for community and social cohesion—respect, the motivation to achieve in education, training and employment, the confidence to build positive relationships. The MAGIC programme can be delivered to young people at risk of offending, truancy, or social exclusion. Young people participate in groups or individually, through six core modules. Young people learn how to:
- Value and respect themselves and others
- Motivate themselves to achieve goals in education, training, employment and their community
- Build effective relationships with peers and authority figures
- Reflect on antisocial behaviour
- Control their behaviour

MAGIC is a process and as such the delivery is tailored to the ability of the participants. Each MAGIC course establishes ground rules for a safe environment. These are developed by the facilitator and the participants.
