Michael had always worked until an accident prevented him from continuing his profession. When we met him he'd lost confidence and had been turned down for voluntary work--he described this as a massive blow to his self-esteem and was adamant that this experience had put him off volunteering altogether. Following our workshops and some coaching he was encouraged to try volunteering again so that he could gain experience in a new field of work. He has now been offered a volunteer role and he's looking forward to taking up the role when his NHS treatment plan is completed.
